The project, which develops natural fumigants for more sustainable agriculture, was represented by Tecnova and the Finnova Foundation at a key event for the European innovation ecosystem.
Brussels, April 7, 2025. –– Last Thursday, April 3, the European LIFE NextFUMIGREEN project was present at the CBE JU Info Day 2025, held at the Charlemagne building in Brussels. The event brought together representatives of the European innovation ecosystem to present funding opportunities under the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) program, which focuses on accelerating the transition to a circular and sustainable bioeconomy.
During the event, the priorities for the 2025 calls for proposals were outlined and practical guidance was offered for submitting proposals. A networking space was also available to foster new collaborations in the field of industrial biotechnology.
LIFE NextFUMIGREEN, which develops natural fumigants for more sustainable agriculture, was represented by the Tecnova Technology Center team and the Finnova Foundation. Representing the latter were Davide Grechi (Project Officer), Aleix Castells Vallmitjana (Communications Office Assistant), and Ana María Sánchez (Assistant Project Manager EU), who accompanied the Tecnova technical team to support the creation of international synergies.

The CBE JU program promotes bio-based solutions that reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Its objectives include fostering innovation in sustainable materials and products, reducing the environmental impact of industrial production, and strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors. By 2025, it has a significant budget allocated to projects that contribute to the development of a circular economy in Europe.
After the event, the project’s technical team visited Finnova’s headquarters in Brussels, where a follow-up meeting was held, led by CEO Juan Manuel Revuelta. Harry Hersch Reich, Vice President of Europe Investment, also participated in the meeting, along with an institutional visit aimed at strengthening collaboration between the two entities.
