Brussels, May 2, 2024 — As part of European Green Week, the European LIFE NextFUMIGREEN project will organize the event “New Toxic-Free Agriculture” next Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (Brussels time). The conference, which will take place at Tecnova’s headquarters in Almería, Spain, and will be streamed online, will address the benefits of using natural biopesticides for the environment and health.
The event will feature institutional contributions from the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, who will discuss the European vision for addressing the challenges facing agriculture and the benefits of natural fumigants. European funding and the possibility of scaling up this project to other European programs will also be explored.
With a budget of €2,758,921.01 from European funds, LIFE NextFUMIGREEN is one of the most notable projects that anticipates improved food safety as a result of zero-waste food, and positive impacts on biodiversity and climate change. This conference will be a great opportunity to showcase the significant opportunities that exist within the European Union.

The European LIFE NextFUMIGREEN project actively promotes food safety by developing natural fumigants from plant extracts to control pests in intensive greenhouse horticultural crops. Led by Fumi-hogar and with the collaboration of the Finnova Foundation; Tecnova Technology Center; B&B Asesores Auditores Ambientales; Comercial Química Masso; and BrioAgro España, the project has a total budget of €2,758,921.01, 60% co-financed by the LIFE Programme of European funds.
