The European project promotes new alliances in the main forum of R+D+i and technology transfer in Spain
Málaga, 14 March 2025 – The European project LIFE NextFUMIGREEN, focused on the development of natural fumigants for sustainable agriculture, had an outstanding participation in Transfiere 2025, the European forum of reference in R+D+i and technology transfer.
During the event, a strategic meeting was held between Carlos Ramos Hernández, head of operations at FumiHogar and lead partner of the project, and Juanma Revuelta, CEO of Fundación Finnova , a partner in the project. This meeting made it possible to strengthen synergies and explore new opportunities for the implementation of innovative solutions in the field of biopesticides.
Malaga, the headquarters of FumiHogar, became the epicentre of innovation in biotechnology applied to agricultural sustainability. Transfiere 2025 provided a key space to connect with companies, administrations and research centres interested in promoting environmentally friendly and effective pest control technologies.
The LIFE NextFUMIGREEN project aims to develop natural fumigants from plant extracts to control whiteflies and botrytis in greenhouse horticultural crops. With a budget of €2,758,921.01, 60% financed by the European Union’s LIFE programme, it seeks to improve food security, promote biodiversity and move towards more sustainable agriculture.
The success of LIFE NextFUMIGREEN is possible thanks to the collaboration between different entities specialized in biotechnology and agricultural sustainability:
- FumiHogar (project leader)
- B&B Asesores
- Centro Tecnológico Tecnova
- Comercial Química Massó
- BrioAgro Tech
- Fundación Finnova
