Brussels, April 17, 2024. The European LIFE NextFUMIGREEN project will hold the event “New Toxic-Free Agriculture” next Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (Brussels time) during European Green Week. A live conference will provide an opportunity to learn about the environmental benefits of using natural fumigants.
The event will be held at Tecnova’s headquarters in Almería, Spain, and will also be broadcast online. The presentations will focus on the European vision for addressing the challenges facing agriculture and, specifically, will address the benefits of using natural fumigants for the environment and health. This segment will include institutional contributions from the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture. The webinar will also address European funding and the possibility of scaling up this project to other European programs.
With a budget of €2,758,921.01 from European funds, LIFE NextFUMIGREEN is one of the most notable projects that anticipates improved food safety as a result of zero-waste food, and positive impacts on biodiversity and climate change. This conference will be a great opportunity to showcase the significant opportunities that exist within the European Union.
EU Green Week is an annual event, organized by the European Commission, that promotes and analyzes Europe’s environmental policies. The campaign aims to raise awareness and promote positive, collaborative solutions.
About LIFE NextFUMIGREEN
The European LIFE NextFUMIGREEN project actively promotes food safety by developing natural fumigants from plant extracts to control pests in intensive greenhouse horticultural crops. Led by Fumihogar and with the collaboration of the Foundation for Auxiliary Technologies for Agriculture, the Finnova Foundation, B&B Asesores Auditores Ambientales, Comercial Química Masso, and BrioAgro Tech, the project has a total budget of €2,758,921.01, 60% of which is subsidized by the LIFE Programme.
