- The European project showcases its sustainable solutions to new generations at Finnova headquarters.
Brussels, March 27, 2025 – The Finnova Foundation headquarters in Brussels today hosted the Young People in Training Meeting, a key event for emerging talent in Europe. During the event, attendees learned about innovative projects funded by the European Union in areas such as sustainability, ecological transition, and agricultural innovation.
One of the key projects has been LIFE NextFUMIGREEN, an initiative developing natural fumigants based on plant extracts to combat pests in horticultural crops in a more sustainable manner. With this approach, the project seeks to reduce the use of chemical pesticides, promoting biodiversity and ensuring greater food security.
Eduardo Mercado, Chief Technology Officer at Finnova, presented the progress of LIFE NextFUMIGREEN, highlighting its impact on the transition to greener and more efficient agriculture. The project has a budget of €2,758,921.01, 60% funded by the European Union’s LIFE program, and is led by FumiHogar, in collaboration with B&B Asesores, Comercial Química Massó, BrioAgro Tech, and the Finnova Foundation.
